so it's intermittently on and off..... mechanics can't find anything wrong with it.

Maybe a faulty sensor? Bad engine compression? My engine's going to blow up?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Tricky oil light

I'll give one thought on what it could be. I had a similar problem in an older Acura of mine.
The brake fluid "float" sensor would become stuck in the brake fluid reservoir. It would like kinda catch on the sides every 8 or 9 months or something, kinda wierd and it took some research for me to get this info. I'm not quite sure how the brake fluid float sensor relates to the oil pressure light, but give it a shot, hell why not.
All I had to do was take off the brake fluid reservoir lid off, slightly jiggle the floater or move it a little up and down, replace the cap, restart the truck, see what happens.
Hope this works, otherwise I'll sound like a complete moron. Good luck...

So did playing with the brake fluid reservoir help your oil light, or was Brad right? :)

Seriously, when does it come on? At low idle when stopped, flickering on, may be okay. A lot of engines have their oil pressure go really low at idle, maybe yours is idling a little too low.
