Hello,
I have always appreciated the discussions and technical advice on this board and I have a problem that I am sure someone has either had or can enlighten me with a solution.
My 2000 RR 4.0 has been sitting for a couple of months, and two days ago I began driving it again. The radio/cassete player is not powering on however. I have pulled the radio, checked the cables, fuses, and connections. It is an Alpine AMR6285. A new one from the dealer is $650. I called Crutchfield and they do not have any aftermarket receivers for this vehicle. I am hoping that the radio is not bad, but it appears as though it is not receiving power.
Does anyone know of a good test, or an aftermarket deck that will fit?
Thanks in advance.

If your RR was sitting for a couple of months, didn't the battery go flat?......If so, then the radio would have lost power to its memory and you now need the security code re-entered to make it work!

Thank you for the responses. I will definitely check out that company which refirbs the radios.
As far as the radio losing memory because of a dead battery, I thought that might be the problem as well because the battery, while it didn't go completely flat, was a little sluggish after sitting. I do have the code, however the radio does not even power on or request a code for me to input. I wonder if taking the negative lead off the battery to reset would help at all?
