I have a Pack Towl that until now I regarded as awesome. It's super absorbant and dies fast, but yesterday, I got turned on to these microfiber detailing towels like the ones that EE sells. WalMart has these huge 23.5"x40" towels for $6.46. They have a thick nap (as far as microfiber towels go) and they pack down small.
This morning, I decided to put it to the test after my shower. The microfiber towel is way better than a Pack Towl and only 1/4 the price for an equivalent size.
What I like most vs the Pack Towl is that the microfiber towel immediately pulled the water away from me and the towel still felt like a dry cotton terry bath towel. The surface of the Pack Towl qalways has a cold, wet feel that I find kinda weird, like I'm improvizing with a chamois because I couldn't find a real towel.
