I finally got around to welding in my Panhard setup in the rear of my D2. It was a super easy job and the articulation that it allows is WAY better than the WATTs setup. My coils springs can now just fall out so I will be adding retainers and cones soon (the pipe clamps in the photo are just temporary!) The only snafu was one of my braided steel brake lines arced to a coil spring while welding and caused a brake fluid leak. Well....since rover parts are next to impossible to find locally we went to Oreillys and just sorted through lines. I learned something new....a 1999 Toyota Tacoma front brake line works perfectly in the rear of my D2...and the toyota line is about 4" longer than my extended SS lines. Here are some pictures...

pictures to prove this? We did a VERY good weld job and boxed everything. Remember...the front panhard is welded to the frame also...

I'll see if I can find the pictures of MY truck when:

Ripped the front panhard mount awy from the frame. It was welded both on the sides and along the bottom part of the frame. It tore 1" from the weld. This was in Moab on Golden Spike. Used Ratchet straps for a field fix

Ripped the driver side radius arm (custom) off the frame on Charloutte Gap here in Tucson, frame gave way about 1" from the weld point

So. yeah, fish scale the frame, use a piece of 3/16th, drill 1/2 holes in the plate to roesette weld the piece to the frame...

I am headed to Choccoloco Mt. tomorrow to put this suspension link to the test! I will report back afterwards! I have faith that it will be awesome. hopefully it will not "rip my frame"....
