Parts swap

SO,
I have a 2000 D2 SE7 which has treated me very well and I just bought a 2001 SD D2. The newer truck has all the toys I wanted but I had two questions:

First, how much work would it be to swap the heated seats out of the SE7 into the SD? Is the wiring there already or would it have to be run?

Second, can I swap in the heated windshield? The wiring is run up to the cowl in the SD and there is a blank where the heated windshield button would go.

I know this may seem inconsequential to those of you that enjoy the nice warm, minimal rust world south of me but up here in Maine, its not!

Thanks for any help and I tried searching seats/seat heater/SD to SE7... didn't find anything but if I missed something, thanks in advance for pointing it out :D

Does the '01 have leather seats? If so, then it should have the heating elements in them. You just need the kit (or the parts from your old truck) to plug them in and turn them on.

Never done one myself, but IIRC, the heated windshield is more complicated...I hear it would involve plugging everything (switch, fuse, heated wind screen, etc...) in and turning it on in the BCU...

Could you just use the BCM from the SE in the SD to make the heated windshield work... or are they vin coded or some silly shit?

My understanding with the heated windscreen is that it's the same as the heated seats = plug in the switches and everything else is already there/coded on a D2.

Easy.

Has to be turned on in BCU. I've done the swap.... Well the glass company installed the glass. I did the rest.
