I have 04 disco with re-man short block from AB with top hat liners. When doing the rebuild I used PEL500110 thermostat. Driving temps are now 184-193. I think they use to be 206. So it certainly seems to help.

Just purchased that exact t-stat and getting ready to install it this weekend. Currently inquiring about a flush treatment. It has green anti freeze in it now but the last guy used tap water with it.

just remove as much coolant as you can. top up with distilled water and organic coolant (i prefer Motul inugel) bleed system. drive a week, and repeat. unless you're having issues with the heater core i.e. blockage, you shouldn't need a 'treatment'.

Got heat- but I posted the history of the maintenance of our 03' on the flush regarding Cascade hence wanting to try a flush product recommended and gain some insight of my options.

Follow up with soft spring t-stat

Full heat city driving 188.6F
No heat city driving 188.6-190.4F
Full AC city driving 188.6- 194F
Full AC at stop light 197.6F
No air at stop light 197.6F

It is nice not to hear my fan always starting up when I had the old stock t-stat.:D

Any more info on this coolant? Im replacing all of my hoses and t-stat this weekend and have been wondering what type of coolant to use. Do any chain stores sell that coolant, or are there any alternatives?
