Again. It was requested of me by a few people to show some photos. I did not invite the bullshit from JSQ. You don't need to like me or my vehicles but you don't need to talk shit either.

Thanks all.

I really tried to get 32.7" BFG At's to fit but they dug in too many places and for highway trips to far away places, it didn't make as much sense to artificially lift it by cheating the height sensor arms. Plus, that wouldn't address the articulated fit of the tire. I still have the 285/65's though and may use them somehow later.

I do have 265/65x18's ready though. They are the same as the D90 size of 265/75x16 for comparison.

Here's an early shot of the LR3 in one of it's primary functions:

we had an LR3 out with us this weekend, and I thought it did pretty good. he got stuck on one boulder, but that was about it... I definitly gained some new respect for its capabilities

get rid of the rims and tires, then your perfect
Assuming you are referring to me and the 20's...what's wrong with them, they look totally cool! )( I know, 20's don't quite "go" with bullbars and snorkles unless there are 37" tires on them)
You must have missed the part where I said they are mainly just for long road trips b/n NC-WA and around town highway driving to keep from unneccesarily wearing down the BFG AT's. I think it would be cool to have the 20's powdercoated satin black but wouldn't paint the 18" offraod rims because they'd just get scraped and look like crap after a few outings.

I might get the 20" tires siped to improve the winter highway traction too.

Any thoughts on that? I've only heard of it being done and it seems like a good thing to do and it's cheap.

How do 20's improve the quality of your highway experience over a smaller diameter rim and more sidewall?

First, I like a "sporty" feel, which may also translate into not really liking soft riding feel. However, I drove the stock ones for a few hundred miles and am pretty sure the 20's, mainly the 1.5" wider rubber on the ground, makes for cornering with more assurance. Stopping distance/grip also seems better because of the contact patch being significantly bigger. Lastly though, the Toyo Proxes ST is so much a better tire than the goodyears are, it's several things improving the overall.

Shorter sidewall reduces the "woblyness" of the lr3 handling, just like in a car going from 16's to 19's.
I would guess that the air suspension takes care of any adverse "ride-feel" gained of the lower profile tires.
