Madeline and I celebrated the end of our 3rd season together by going out for ducks for the first time.
We braved the 2:45 AM wake up and 170 mile drive to El Centro as well as a cold (for CA) morning.
Every moment was magic and we are hooked.
My only regret is that it took us so long to branch out from the uplands.

Can't wait till next year.

Nice work on the ducks. I have a funny dog / goose hunting story. A few years back I took my 45 lb (at the time) Viszla goose hunting. She is always an eager companion in just about anything I want to do. My friend, dog, and I were sitting in the pit when a couple of geese snuck around behind us. We quickly turned around and took both geese simultaneously. My dog literally flew out of the pit to check out what had just landed on the ground. She got up to the pair of geese, took one look at how huge these birds were and looked back at me with a confused look on her face and crawled back to the pit. I can only imagine what she was thinking: "you want me to bring those back?"

First trips are the best, they start a long tradition that will always bring you togather.

I will never forget the firt trip with my daughter Madeline (maddie) musky fishing. she was just shy of three years old and she fought a 35" musky for about 5 min before boating it.

congrats again on a great family outing.
