Some moron from the body shop where the owner just had $50k in paint and body work done to it wrecked it taking it back to the customer in front of where I work today. I actually saw the debris fly from the accident. As usual, I'm on the spot w/ the camera.

Here's a link to the pics as they're 14MB worth.

Its a Ford GT not GT 40. Ford GT40s were made in the late 60's and were 40" tall... Ford GT's are 46" tall and made in the present;)

in any event what a crying shame:(

can you imagine being that shop owner and having to tell your client that you just f*cked up his baby!!!!!!

thats a doh.... make that DOH!!!!

The parts that aren't dented or broken sure are shiny! Where's that tech working tomorrow?

Chad: you work at LR N Sct or just in the area?

Not hard to believe. The visibility in these things is nonexistant. Very nice cars, very fast, and downright telepathic handling. But a dread to drive in traffic. Let's put it this way, you had better pass people, because between in front of you and behind you, you can't see them at all.

Nevermind the fact that when people see you they quit looking where they are going. The things grab more attention than a Lamborghini.

I don't suspect the car is done for, they are built very well, and it should be repairable.

Cheers,

Kennith

I'm blown away every time I hear about a mechanic wrecking a rare exotic. I don't understand why the shop and/or owners don't go ahead and spring for a flatbed for delivery purposes after a $50k paintjob.

I want to know what kind of paint job costs $50K.
It only cost Delta $117K to paint a plane

Well you know what they say .... a fool and his money are soon parted :smilelol:

Just on the property. We do all the vehicle photography/inventory for the dealership websites (11 dealers on site). The company is www.ebizautos.com. So I'm in and out of LR NS almost every day. In fact, I was photographing a used LR3 when I heard the idiot revving the engine like crazy and then take off. A couple seconds later I heard the crunch and turned just in time to see the debris still flying.

oh man, looks like that was a beautiful car!

so was the guy being stupid, or was it just a bad luck kinda accident?

Yeah, the employee of the body shop was returning it to the customer and was being an idiot. He put it into and under the 2nd rear axle of a container truck. He only made it about 200 feet from the stop sign he was at when the car was perfect.

Oh, and update on the info. The $50k was for repairs from a previous accident that it had been in. This car just didn't have much of a chance of staying on the road.
