I have to admit, I read that whole thread on Rennlist (or whatever it is) and I agree with your point on that whole "red caliper thing", though I don't have a Porsche and I tend toward the utilitarian side of things. However, you blasted the guy right out the gates and yeah, he might be a bit of a poseur, but you could've questioned him first and then it would've been clear enough to everyone watching. You made your point well, you just fuckin' drilled it home, with venom, over and over. Not necessary and also, not good manners.

Mike, just wanted to say that the picture on the NBOO site with Trevor's rolled 90 and the naked chics frolicing in the snow about cracked me up.. "these guys are clearly gay!!!" too funny....

As for agro1, aside from him bringing some ones mother into a comment, I don't have a problem with him. If you don't like what he says then don't read it.. There is an ignore filter that I think works.. I don't know as I haven't tried it but I think it's still there.

Are we all that thin skinned around here these days that a few names and some internet leg humping is going to ruffle everyone's feathers?

Mike - you make a good point, however I wasn't aware that manners were a prerequisite for participation on Dweb. For the limited amount of time that I have been on Dweb, on the old system and the new, I have witnessed many exhibitions of poor manners and "skull fucking" comments. I won't even try to justify or make excuse(s) for my behavior (or lack thereof), it is what it is and some poll that threatened Steve initiates ain't gonna make me turn tail and run, nor will it cause me hesitation or pause.

Mike, those were exactly my feelings when I started reading this Rennlist thread - but then I realized that Luke hit it in the head, that's why the guy went ballistic.

I dont like the idea of kicking anyone off unless for real good reasons (genuine threat, etc). Just because someone is a jerk and talks smack on the internet, to me, isn't a good enough reason.
At some point, he is going to say something that someone needs.

He hasn't hurt me or my family, He's given me a good laugh, and plenty entertainment.....I see no reason to kick him off.

Our online community is what we let it become. If you tolerate insults and name calling, then the worthwhile content gets lost in the noise, and you encourage that kind of behavior. I'd hate to see a place like DWeb degenerate into an uncivil environment.

I deal with people online the way I would deal with them face to face. I'm not a big fan of "internet smack talking". So to me insulting someone in an online forum is the same as if I were doing it face to face.

A good number of my personal relationships have been initiated through the internet in forums such as this, and the only clue you have to someone's personality is what they post.

I often wonder if the really abrasive posters have the same persona in real life. I suspect they don't and I'm sure the reason is that they feel safer behind the screen. I don't respect people with duplicitous personalities.

Jaime, while this is true, an insult is often the only means to draw someone's attention.

Like, you want to get directions how to get from Imperial Ave. & Inglewood Ave to Disney Hall; if you roll down your window, and yell "Yo bitch" - you'll certainly be noticed.

He hasn't hurt anyone physically I don't think anybody takes him too seriously I have met most of the people he is taking shots at, usually on the trails and I know I could count on them in any manner of trouble, so the fact his verbal diarea continues with people who are laughing there asses off at him does no one any harm except mabe himself. He is just the class clown. Next years class will have just as many laughs and he will have new material for them.

I don't think they are and that was not my implication.

Yeah, me too, hell, I'm occasionally one of the exhibitors, but, IMO, we should strive to be civil (shit-talking and ribbing aside).

Well, it's intention is to get a chuckle, but I've had more than few emails asking to clarify the meaning. Some people are really taking that way too seriously.

Yeah, I agree, he nailed him. That is a funny thread, the parallel to some threads on dweb, while not surprising, forces you to do a double-take. I have a picture in my mind of that guy (Alex?) PM'ing the admin like crazy and the admin just sitting there hitting the del key over and over....

Oh,you'll be noticed... but I wonder just what directions you'll get ;)

People closest to you understand where you're coming from, but you're right, those that don't know you so well think you're about ready to blow if you see one more locker/tire/slider thread !

You know what - it's funny you mention that...The Admin was sooooo pissed, and we actually had a few email exchanges after he banned me - discussing the quagmire he had gotten himself into whereby setting the precedent of banning people simply by popular opinion (or UNpopular) of the board. I cannot even begin to explain the fucking chumps that call that place home.
Lemme ask you a question ? If someone sends you a PM, because you bashed his painted calipers, and asks for your address so he can fight you, what do you say? Interesting this [past day or so] all arouse from a home defense thread, because I told the prick he'd be pulling a .12 slug out of his belly. I didn't find that out of line considering the circumstances. So he fucking whines to the Admin and they ban me. Wah, biggest bunch of fucking babies I've ever seen.
That is rule by Popular Vote.
Good thing Dwed ain't a fucking Democracy.

LOL!

Seriously though, there have been so many more entertaining threads lately. Flame wars are much preferred to threads yelling at noobs for not searching in my book.

Agro's attitude was entertaining at first, now it's just boring and I don't think he deserves any more attention, I'll just opt to ignore him

The more I read about him the more I envision the guy in Office Space going on about his stapler. I think this is his computer voice, not the "wheeling for rainbows" guy we might meet in public.

" I-I-I believe you have my stapler (or Detroit, or slider, or gun, insert agro noun of the moment here."

Or maybe the guy in Taxi Driver....
