Plumbing question

Quick question for you guys. My sister in has a faucet in her house that shit the bed. She had a plumber come in and he said he couldn't replace it because the mount on new faucets isn't compatible with the bowl section of the countertop. Here's a pic of the current faucet:

How would I find a faucet that would be similar to what she has now? I've spent some time online and can't find anything. All of the faucets have the common two wide threaded sections for the supply that get snugged down with those wide nuts.

BTDT with this weird old crap. The washers and threaded rod through the mount holes is definitely a non-conventional setup.

What you need is a single-hole faucet that has the supply tubes through the center hole like this one:

It may still require some rigging to get the washer on the center hole tight so that the faucet is solid, but it solves your supply problem easily.

As an aside, I'm not sure what's wrong with the faucet that's there (looks like the hot side has been leaking for a while), but consider the possibility of rebuilding the existing faucet with new washers.

I went to a Second Use store in Seattle and found a pair of Moen faucets with the same weirdo threaded rod mounting setup.

Rebuilding was out of the question. This was a double sink and the other faucet stopped working and was removed and tossed a while back. The one in the pic is the one that's working.
