Alyssa brought home porky the range rover. I call it porky because it is big and sort of a really dark pink (ok its red and a nice red) but it reminds me of a pig, a pig that ate all my porsche money :( The stereo is nice and it is comfy.

Pics to come tomorrow.

Here's how it all went wrong Ron. If you had called the other thread Choose Alyssa's new ride, you would have been golden man. You would have been in there like swimwear.

Now what you need is a back up plan. Something low brow, high profile, gets the job done at half the price. 928 Trust me on this. You can thank me later.

Congrats on the Rangie. Can't wait to see it covered in mud and scratches. :D Are you going with OME or RTE, $G or ARB, TT front and Detroit rear or ARB front and rear what's your preference for a roof rack, Mantec or ARB snorkel, 4.11s vs. stock how about the largest tire you can fit? Let me know if I've missed any other controversial option for your truck. (I'm just trying to start raking the muck as early as possible.) :D

That 928 has always been one of my top five dream cars. Super nice, even though I'd like mine in black please.

You might see it covered in mud, but NO SCRATCHES!!!
I don't need a lift because the air suspension lifts the vehicle freakishly high to begin with.
I'm very happy with my Torsen diff and ETC.
If it weren't a lease, I'd seriously consider the safety devices roof rack.
No snorkel. I don't drive in dusty conditions, and they aren't really for water in a gas engine.
I can't go much bigger on the tires because of access mode-- I'll eat up my fenders.

Ron has always liked the 928, but I just cannot get over how fugly it is. Wouldn't you all rather see him in a nice '05 911 when we get rid of the BMW?

And by the way, I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOOOOOOVE MY NEW RANGE ROVER! It is just so perfect! I'm not really into stereos, but this stereo kicks so much butt it blows me away. I love it, I love it, I love it! You can steer the thing with your pinky, too. It's just fabulous. Beautiful, comfortable, classy. I can't stop smiling about it.

Got to love the Range Rover....I know I would....

I hate to have to agree with Alyssa on this, but the 928 looks very odd to me and always has... the 911 is a much nicer looking car. My choice as well, but of course I might be able to buy a nice Radio controlled version, but that is about it.

Again, I agree with Alyssa...sorry Ron.
the 928 IS ugly...there are much better looking cars out there....what about a Ferrari 456?! :)

I'm so jealous of your Rangie! But I'm so glad you got it...AND...it's very fitting for you to be driving it since you are a GOLD sales guide! :) YIPPEE! ENJOY!

I'm pushing for an 04 Freelander for commuting...soon.

Ron, get an 03 XJ8. You can get a pretty good deal on them!

Ron, just sell every thing and go get this and call it a day....

As for porky the red rangie.. I just don't like the looks of the new range rover, the lr3, or the freelander. On the rare occasion that I go to the dealer to pick up a part or just drive by on my way some where else there really isn't anything there that catches my eye... Well, unless there is a nice used D90 on the lot and then I'll look and laugh cause it's like $38,000 with 60K miles. I'm just not diggin the new Land Rovers. So unless they change designs in the next few years to some thing more appealing to me I won't be buying another new Land Rover.

Real problem with the 928 is gettig it worked on, not all Porsche mechs know what to do, they were not that common. I had a friend looking at one, and the dealer said bend over if you bring it in for service. Worse than the Range Rovers as far as $$$...

No question, the Vanquish is amazing. Maybe when Ron makes Partner. :) Pure sex on wheels.

Although, I'm sure Ron might be more inclined to get a Morgan Aero 8 (quite a bargain, compared to the Vanquish), which the two of us have been drooling over for quite some time. And since it's very similar to a new Range Rover, and we're able to work on them, it's a very good fit.

driving a 928 could result in cheap sex on an L train in Chi-town with Rebecca DeMornay...

hmmm....!?

Kind of a side question, but does anyone know what rebates are on the Rovers right now? Thinking of trading my 03 Disco for an 04 (before that uglier than a 928 LR3 is out).
