Portland this week

I'll be in Portland, Maine for some work this week until Thursday. Any suggestions on a good place to dine or grab some good craft beer? I just might have some free time on Tuesday or Wednesday nights and would like to check out a couple places as this is my first time there.

Sebago Brewing Co has some great beer though I haven't had the food.

All the brew pubs have about the same grub, usually its decent.

There are a ton of good resturaunts in the Portland area as well as a few good brew pubs.

When I used to hand out around there the worst part was making a decision on which place to go.

Shipyard Brewing....in old port Portland. Hit up the happy hours while in the area...lots of fresh seafood free if your drinking.

You can not go wrong with Gritty's. Great beer and good pub fare. Always solid. Fore Street restaurant if you want something really good.

Damn... What a cool town. Sebago brewhouse was nice suggestion. However, Gritty's was cooler for sheer funky atmosphere but the new Infinity brewery and distillery is where it's at. They spent a fortune on the remodel and setup of a primo brewhouse. This is a DO NOT miss location. Can I move please?

Garrets 'hole' is closed due to code issues.. Something to do with remodeling and repairs.

Gritty's is my go to when in Portland. There's another location in Freeport, but it's no where as cool as the one in Portland.

Yeah Portland is a great town. I almost moved there in the late 90s, but moved to Vermont instead. Can't go wrong with that town - great beer and food scene - not to mention just a great vibe all around.

LOL... while yes most of us enjoy a sandwich the size of a TV, there are other places in Maine too.
