POS Factory Brush Bar

So mine is all torn up and lightly rusting. I've found a shop that will sand blast it for me for cheap. Here's my quandry...I'm thinking about using a buddy of mine to "Rhino Line" the brush bar after it's been sand blasted; has anyone ever done this? Did it actually apply OK or look like crap? I can do it all for a couple hundred bucks so I figured for the price...not too bad.

I'm open to all forms of criticism. Should I just scrap this idea all together and save up for a decent bar?

Scrap the idea and save up for a real bumper.

X2. i personally hate rhino lining or any of that spray or roll on bedliner crap. i just picked up an SD rack with herculiner on it, and i've spent three days so far sanding and wire-wheeling it down to bare metal.

rustoleum or POR-15 looks much better, protects from rust, and can be touched up for practically nothing.

You can't polish a turd.

Ditto, the factory bar is thin steel that will fold when it is hit by anything, and when it folds it hits your truck so why have it in the first place? The factory paint must be stripped and replaced with something if it is a couple years old too. What you might do it cut it in half and weld the upper portion to a plain RTE to gain a decent bumper and winch mount. Otherwise IMO it's wasn't worth the time to strip and paint. I'm talking from experience here too, I stripped and painted mine and immediately got rid of it and the factory bumper after they suicided on a snow bank.

Edit: NOT implying the RTE upper portion isn't worth it, it is definitely worth it, far more sturdy. But if you are strapped for cash this is a saver assuming you already have the pieces...

Thank you all for telling me what I needed to hear. I'll save up for a decent one and not try to 'polish this turd'.
