Breaux Bridge La.
I own a 2002 d2 with 79k miles on it... recently I started getting the sport and manual indicators blinking along with the drive indicator blinking on the console whenever I shift into reverse and back up... It also feels funny. If I stop the engine and restart it lights go away. It progressed to my getting a check engine light and finally ended with all the traction type Indicators on the speedo coming on along with an alarm bell. This happened when I stopped at a traffic light. All this took place in about a 2 day period with on a business trip. I have already made an appoinment with LR but would like to get any feedback from all of you as to what might be happening so that I won't go into the dealer cold... Please offer any ideas or experiences
Thanks Gordon

Yes the same happens on my D2. There are two valves in the ABS module. One or both of these valves are sticking. Land Rover did release an update for this but it still does not fully solve the problem - in my case the symptom reappear after about 1200 miles.

Solution is to replace the ABS module - a $1200 part + labor.

Sorry to hear about this. I am glad I sold my Discovery.

have your battery and alternator checked/tested at a local auto parts store - my 2000
D2 had similar problems, ended up being a weak battery - low voltage can cause major electrical headaches, becasue the system will start throwing things into "safe mode"

BTW when the manual/sport and D lights blink, your tranny is in safe mode.

worth a try to save you BIG $$ at the stealer.

good luck.
