Sorry, I don't mean to drag this went out but I really want to know what could be better for the future.

My list:

More porta-let's
Better HQ tent organization
Better sponsor area and recognition.

Thank you

I think there was enough portalets but the hand washing stations ran out of water and paper towels quick. The trails were good could have been better with rain so maybe do a rain dance if it's this dry next year?

Camping area was great and easy to find at night. Everybody staffed working the event was really helpful. I had a great time and don't regret driving 12 total highway hours in the disco for the event.

Oh I guess I should add- massive slip and slide?

Had a great time Chris. Good to meet you and Gary and his boys, and see the infamous pink trailer! In regard to the event, all in all great group of local club members that went out of their way to make outsides welcome and make sure they were up on what was going on. Green Oval Guild is top notch!

1) I did not have the grand kids this trip, but a kids meal pricing or option for dinner would be something that would help with families. Dinner menu and food was GREAT, even if I was behind Erik in the buffet line, and just a head of him was Justin sporting as soft shackle as a bracelet!

2) In regard to trails, the trail markings were great, and the trails were a lot of fun! I ran into a issue when the marked trail appeared to end as noted on the map and there were a couple trail options to choose and I was not real clear on which to choose. May be nice to point out that you are at the end of the "Christmas Tree Trail" in my case and point, and if you now take the left fork that takes you back to camp by way of the last portion of the Lakeview Trail or take the right fork and that takes you to trail head of the "Woodlands Trail". That may be a little much to ask, as I should have studied the trail map a little more in advance of heading out. Although I got a good feel for what trails to attempt for my D2 in is present state of upgrades, some relative trail difficulty on the map would be a good help as well.

3) Silent Auction - I was not sure when they ended, and what may be helpful is at dinner to close the auctions at that time and give 15-30 minutes for final bids. This would allow everyone to make their best offers by close of dinner, and may give you a better total for your auction items to go to your charity,

Thanks to Chris, Joe & Karla, Paul and his wife, Steve, Steve, Jason, Jason, Jason, Scott, Shawn and a few others I am sure I am missing for all their help and kindness for my first of what I hope are many trips to The Wilds Summer Safari. Well worth the 5 hr trip across WV to get to the other side. Gas prices are sure better in SW Virginia!

Chris,

PM me an email for Joe, I need to get him some additional information. THANKS

Dan,

In reference to your question about were there a bunch of women there, yes, there were, and lots of kids as well.

Gary,

"Kissing Booth"? Is that why you were hanging around my tent late Saturday night? I did appreciate the tips on my truck, thanks!

Only reason I mentioned it is because I lathered up my hands to realize there was no water.... And then to also realize there was also no paper towels.. So then I had to wonder around with soap all over my hands to get some water. I only felt obligates to wash my hands cause the stations were there :D

We had a great time, the kids loved having other kids there. I was a new comer this year so maybe I may of missed some things. To me fires at night are key, I like the communal fire area but my kids are young, high maintenance and go to bed early therefore leaving me stuck near my tent. I saw as i was leaving on Sunday that there was a bunch of wood left over that i had though belonged to other people since it was right next to there trucks. Shame on me for not asking. I guess i would just love an area to grab wood as needed, perhaps an area at registration.

We had a good time again this year. Letting us go out when we wanted was much better than the guided rides.

Here's a few things:

1. Agree on the kids meal. It was great for me and the older kid but my daughter ate only watermelon and for $20 that was kind of steep.
2. Trail markers could be upgraded a bit. Since we've been before it was not an issue.
3. On the auctions. The way I read the info prior to the event I thought we were doing a live auction at the dinner. I didn't realize that it was a silent auction and the forms were at registration.
4. Pick this site up and move closer to Alabama.

and lastly:

NO JEEP GUYS... Even 2 was TOO many. Yes, I realize they were not with us.

Thanks for everything. We all had a great time.

A few trail ride suggestions: I like the idea of open trail rides, but especially for newcomers, it is not always easy to get in a group and to know what trails you may be able to handle. I think it may be helpful to have a few scheduled rides, even if they are only an hour long or so.

Something like a scenic/easy guided trail ride on Friday dusk or night time frame for those you made it in on Friday afternoon. Then maybe the same Saturday mid-morning when the dealership folks arrive you can do this same trail ride again and also have a more advanced trail ride for those that want that. You could then have this maybe one more time in the afternoon with the same modest and more advanced skill level rides, but different trails or take the same trail in a different direction with the plan to be back with some time to spare to prep for dinner. This would also give those that want to do open rides a good idea where the traffic might be, so they can avoid it by going on other trails or at other times. I know you have to have someone to lead and bring up the rear on these guided trails, so that will require some scheduling for those that volunteer.

I trail ride Saturday night after dinner would be nice as a scheduled ride, or at least let everyone know that a group plans to go out at X time even if it is not technically a guided trail ride.

I saw the pics and noticed the FJ and Jeep. Not that I hate Toyota and Jeep guys, just wondering what they were doing at a private Land Rover event?

The jeep guys were there to check out the place for an event they have coming up. I know there are a lot of jeep haters but I thought they were nice enough guys. Why the FJ was there? no clue

Yes the jeep guys where there to see if they want to have an event.
The FJ was a surprise, he was the son of some dealership guy.
He got flipped off just like the jeep guys.

My 2 cents..... The dinner needs a lot of work.

x2 on the Kids meal
- get the location correct
- increase capacity on serving.. dinner was scheduled at 6:30 and many people did not get in line until well after 7:30pm / serving dishes (like the salad bowls) only had a few servings in them and were replaced at too slow of a rate
- more capacity on the drink serving - maybe roaming servers with pitchers. It was dead hot and we were all sitting full in the sun
- keep the ice cream - big hit there

(and to me - the dinner snafu is on The Wilds - not the club. It appeared that the dinner was contracted out to The Wilds Snack Bar staff and they were not prepared for the head count)

But do not take the feedback as too sour. I had a great time - and my kid did, as well. I think it was well worth the ride from Northern Virginia (325+ miles one way).
