:ack: MY brake booster is going bad ! Its making a hissing sound when I apply the brakes . What other booster will fit my 1969 88" ? New prolines sell for around $130 . I could disconect it and run in manual mode, worst case !

There is a big diaphragm inside that goes with age. At one time, there was a "major overhaul kit" that included this diaphragm, but Rover stopped selling those circa 1977, leaving total replacement as the only option. $130 sound good, though. The last time I bought a gen-u-wine one from one of the usual suppliers, it was $250 or so.

Just make sure that it is the booster, not the plastic valve/fitting....

Make sure that when you get the new servo assembly, you get fixin's for the studs. The old servo probably had 'murrican or SAE-threaded studs. The new ones will most likely be metric.

You know that Trevor at Rover Farm can get you anything that "Rovers North" calls Proline? They literally take the labels off. Onbe time they didn't and got caught.

It's mostly Allmakes and the likes.

George at RDS should always be your first choice as well..
