Power steering pump?

Back before Christmas I noticed some growling coming from the power steering. Usually when turning. During a snow storm it got very loud and when I checked it, it was low, not empty just low. I stopped at the next convenience store and picked up a couple of quarts of PS fluid and topped it off. The next day it was empty and all over the drive. I refilled it and added some stop leak but it?s still noisy. Yesterday when I crawled underneath I could see that it is leaking from the large hose that goes from the reservoir to the bottom of the pump. I only drive the thing a few miles a month so I've only put on about 40 miles since I first added fluid.
I?ll be ordering up the hose today and will replace the belt while I?m in there. Couple of questions:
1. How does the hose attach to the pump? I can?t see it very well. Does it just screw in or is there a clip of some kind.
2. Should I bite the bullet and replace the pump at the same time? Even when it was full and bled it was whining and growling. Is it toast? New or used? How hard is it to replace?

I thought I saw that Will had pumps for $225, and I?ve seen used ones for $125.

I?m also going to replace the throttle body heater plate while I?m mucking around as its leaking as well.

Thanks

If it was me, I would start off with just the hoses. The pump might have been whining due to the leaks, sucking in air. So save the money and just do the hoses first.
