 My `04 D2 is leaking at the top of the fill tank. If I fill it and turn the wheel it starts oozing out the top, I noticed that the cap has a slight bend in the where it tightens. Any suggestions, is the pump going out or the cap messed up? It sounds like a stuck pig and I can't drive it as it is.

Thanks!

To bleed you turn the steering lock to lock a couple of times, until the bubbles or the groaning stops - while the engine is running.
You should not get that much pressure that it pushes fluid out the top, maybe it is over filled.

Question is, how did you get air in the PAS? I'd look for leaks elsewhere too. (Counting my original PAS pump, I went through 3 of them last winter due to leaks, bad pumps, and poorly rebuilt ones. I've learned about the PAS the hard way.)

I placed a pan under the area and see that I still have leak...I'll start looking to see where. Thanks for the info. I hope I can buy the rebuild kit and put an end to it.

My PAS pump sprung a leak and I saw that the flimsy gasket between the 2 pump halves had failed. There are 4 small bolts that hold it together, I split it and then made a gasket using some gasket material from advanced or some place like that. Simple to do and it has not leaked again for over a year.
