So I just bought a powertank but I do not know where to put it. I have an 01 D2 with no jumps. On the drivers side, I have a sub box built in, and the other side I still have the cubby box. Anyone out there got one in a d2 or a d1 since there similar? Let's see some pics!!

I have one 15lb. tank and also have the mounting bracket. I just don't know where to put it.

crown14, You might be on to something. I will make you a deal, I will trade you straight up, the power tank for the detroit. Otherwise, I promise to let you use it whenever you want. Hmmm, a cdl sure would be nice too now that I think about it.

10lb tank and I coax it into the storage area in the back, definitely suboptimal but better than nothing and it doesn't bounce around.

I strap mine between 2 goalie shin pads, the hockey type. That makes it square and padded. Then i put it on the floor behind the driver and move the seat back untill sufficiently wedged in place. So far its stayed put.

Well, you could remove the other storage bin, install a metal plate behind the trim and put it there. It would suck to lose your last storage bin, though.

I almost mounted mine on the inside of the cargo door. It certainly would have been less work.

I bought a cargo box at Wall Mart cut a hole in the top and dropped it in. You can make it nice and snug not rattles. I lash the box to the factory tie downs and it keeps all of your other stuff secured. Went ot Moab and Colorado this summer and it worked fine.

When your not wheeln you take both out, no permenant mods required.

On my D1 I just used the jump seat mounting holes and drilled new holes in the bracket but I understand the D2 without jump seats does not have the mounting stuff in place,

Thanks everyone for your advice. I think I am going the route of JamesWyatt and just junk the second storage box. If anyone else has more ideas or pics, please chime in.

This forum rocks!!!
