Not sure how you guys do it. Is there a "hide all pictures" options on this board? I just can't read the original message without being distracted.

it has 230k on it just did the fuel tank recall last month will check the fuel pressure tomorrow had to work 0600 to 1800 to day on the way home I tried to start it and it would not start. fuel filter is 8 months old no codes looked @ the crankshaft positioning sensor and it was broke when I got the started rebuilt they must of broke it putting the started back on that was a little over a month a go called the stealer ship they told me it would be a 1000 to do the timing chain if that was the problem

Are you getting too much gas or not enough?

Too much check temp sensors?

Not enough check feul filter/pump?

Do you have a pressure reading?

well got to get into it today had it towed to the house and took the fuel line off the filter behind the rear tire and gave it a crank no fuel pumped out so its not getting fuel. going to replace the pump, hope that dose the trick. surprised they didn't replace it when they did the gas tank recall being the mileage the disco has. hope to get the part tomorrow.

Did you verify power at the plug?

If that's good, pull the pump and test for power at the plug inside the unit.

I've been hearing about the pump side part of the outside plug getting weird after being disconnected. Something about the connections getting stretched.

On my '96, I was getting an intermittent fuel pump issue. As it turned out, the fuel pump was not the problem, it was the wiring hardness (2-3 feet of wires + 2 plugs) that runs from the driver-side chassis to the fuel pump plug that was the problem. When I got the part from the local dealership, the parts guy said he had never heard of this one failing before.
That issue happened shortly after getting the gas tank replaced (same recall as yours I assume).
It's been 2-3 years since I fixed it.

But I never had the symptoms you described with back fire and such. If the fuel pump does not pump fuel, then the engine cuts out.
