Hey guys...long time. Anyway, I'm looking for a reasonably-priced power steering gearbox for The Rover ('95 D1). Suggestions as to where I could find one would be very helpful! Also, has anybody done this install? It seems pretty straight forward, but any watch-out situations would also be beneficial. Thanks in advance!

Best-
Zach

P.S.--Steven Ratajczyk, still out there?

Replaced my steering box on my 87 RR with a rebuilt from Meridian Auto Parts. I believe its the same as the one on my 97 D1. Anyways,it was fairly simple to replace. The only difficulty I had was lifting the 60lbs unit up to install. Used a floor jack and some gentle persuasion. While I was at it I also replced the flexible hoses leading to/from the unit. They too are available through Meridian Auto Parts.

I was very pleased with the service not to mention the price on the rebuild unit. Its been running leak free for over a year.

Thanks for all the input--I'll let y'all know how it turns out. This will be done in the near future, as I have just put insurance back on The Rover (uninsured and not driven for the better part of 8 months--sad, I know).
