Hello,

well, as soon as I told my dad about MAR 2004 he said that we are going for sure (I'm the one who gives him all the information about everything - I'm the researcher ;) ) ...

well, anyway, I was wondering, we can not take two days off ... so, is it okay to come late at night on Thursday ? ... I'm just not sure how everything works there :(

Anybody else is going there from OH (Cleveland) ?

Hope to see you all there :)

I don't see why arriving late on the 30th would be a problem. You would just register first thing on the 1st. Only problem would be getting a camping spot.

It's looking already like MAR will be much bigger than last year...estimating 25% larger. Pre-register as soon as possible and arrive when you can to find a camping spot. If we don't get a full-strength hurricane, the island will be accessible as well as the far field. Should be enough space for everyone. Extraneous cars and tow vehicles will be limited to parking near the entrance in order to reserve more space for camping.

Was at the site working on Sunday, and the trails are going to be great. Just hope the traffic isn't too bad.

It's a great event. Make sure you volunteer too-we need the help.
Cheers

The event starts Thursday, but I get the feeling that many people still will arrive Friday- jobs and all get in the way.
You can arrive late Thursday and pick up your registration Friday morning, it's not a problem at all. Pre-registration is HIGHLY recommended as there will be an "express" line for pre-registered people to pick up their stuff from Rally Control so you don't have to wait in line.
The trails look GREAT so far... let's hope the hurricanes don't mess 'em up too much. There's a couple new trails cut as well.

The ROAV web site is getting updated every other day or so now.

See ya there!

Thanks all :)

we are going to pre-register, so that way we will be required to come (so not to waste the money) :D

I would think that getting there earlier would mean closer parking to the beer truck... Thats gotta be a plus....

6 AM or PM ? well, either way, we are leaving at like 3-4 PM ... the point where our roads intersect (by Streets & Tips) is around Pittsburg, PA ... 1:30 for us to get there and about 3 hours for you :(

Duh- I just noticed that pre-reg cutoff is September 1.

Still- fill out the form and have it with you and you'll save time.

There isn't a beer truck scheduled, but I don't think there will be a shortage of any. Just don't have too many and drive.

Axel is donating DWeb videos and t-shirts for the auction... yet another reason to go to MAR. Thanks DWeb!

The River is full to overflowing and only two trails open I'm told by someone who was just there.

I just got home from MAR. (I live 35miles away, so I can come home at night and go back in the morning!! :) )

The river is flooded, and there is no way you can even get close to the causeway. The river is flooded to just north of where the lake loop trail ends.

You can do the entire lake loop trail, upper field trail and west power-line trail.
Any trail across the river (on the island) is not accessable, and the other trails (other than listed above) wind up as a 'dead end' at the river, due to it's flooding.

I took a cool 15 second video of me driving through a 'big puddle' on the way to check out the causeway. The water wound up coming over my hood and up my windshield!! Thankfully I made it through the 'big puddle' (and back) w/o any water getting into my air filter.... I heard lots of chatter about people's trucks almost stalling after going through. I did get lots of water inside my truck (and on me) 'cause my windows were open.. doh!! :)

Hopefully the river will receed before Sunday. It's going to be NUTS if the trails all dead-end at the river all weekend long!!

Cya!
