Question w/ Sunroof

My front sunroof stopped working in the fall, and its getting warm again, so I want it back!

The passenger side track seems broken or something. It wont completely work on its own. When trying to open it, if you push it a little bit, it will catch and then go on its own. But sometimes one side goes faster than the other and it gets wedged.

When shutting it, it will sometimes go most the way with no help. When it gets to the "pulling glass down and sealing" part, it dont. :(

QUESTION #1: Is it just the track that needs fixing?

QUESTION #2: Where can I buy just the track?

Thanks!

1 of 6 TSBs that Rover had on sunroofs.

In some cases the sunroof mechanisms on Discovery jam during tilt operation. A new sunroof assembly ha been developed to address this problem. The following procedure should be used to replace the sunroof assemblies.

If sunroof replacement is required, note the following:

^ Both front and rear sunroof assemblies are to be replaced at the same time even if only one has jammed.

^ Only complete assemblies should be installed to affect repairs.

Before you start this repair, the technician should take time to test the various systems that might be affected by this operation. Also, cleanliness is very important; it only takes a small smudge to ruin the customer's opinion of an otherwise good job. Any problems found during this inspection should be brought to the service manager's attention.

The diagnostic steps and repair procedures detailed on the following pages were developed as an element of the Land Rover Way OPERATION PRIDE. This TIB provides a library location for PRIDE information within the Land Rover North America technical literature system.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint for the symptoms outlined, perform the specified repairs.

I've just started having the same problem with the rear sunroof on my '98. I'll try cleaning and lubing the rails this weekend (once I find a way to climb up there), and if that doesn't do it I'll end up ordering the kit from Motorcars LTD (but I'm scared!).
