Questions about buying 97 disco

Hi!
I looked at a 97 Disco with 128k miles on it. Here were some issues with it, although most of them were expected of a vehicle of that age. There were a few that I was not sure of hence this post:
- the check engine and anti-lock lights were on. What could be reasons? I was thinking of taking it to a mechanic to read the codes.
- the ceiling liner on the vehicle was sagging. It seems the previous owner had tried to change the liner but did not complete the job. How difficult is it to set it properly? Where would I take in in to get it done?
- there is some rust on the vehicle. Should I be worried about rust in the wheel wells?
- the driver door lock does not seem to disengage cleanly. How difficult is it to fix that?
Thanks a bunch.

Take it to the Autozone, they'll do that for you. Free of Charge.
Copy down the codes, come back here and do a search. There is no way for anybody to tell you what the problems are without codes.

Don't worry about the anti-lock light, I just unplugged the bulb.

I ripped mine out completely, but you could take yours to any interior shop and theyll fix it for a couple hundred bucks.

Yes.

easy. Call Joel @ Buckhorn Imports (Crown14), Marty (Drillbit), or Aaron (DrAaron) .
Thanks a bunch.

You're welcome...

Unless it's very cheap, I'd pass on a D1 with rust in the wheel wells. It's likely in the floorboards as well.

Mitch, that's what I thought too. With the amount of work I have to do on it, it could get to be too much to handle on the wallet. I need it to be a tow vehicle for a 20' boat weighing 4000lbs.

I did not like pulling my 20' Grady White with the 04 DII, you may want to consider something other than a Rover, just saying though.

Agree, I had a '97 Disco worst vehicle I ever owned. I don't know if it is my dumb luck, but had issues of all types. I have a 1995 with 210k and it has been a workhorse. Also, RRC with 280k and has also been a workhorse.
