Questions on Air Suspension for '04 HSE

Hey guys and gals, I use to own a /96 Disco that I beat the crap out of and took off road all the time. I sold it 2 years ago and now I have moved to the North East so winter here will be made easier with a Disco. I want an HSE 04 (cdl) but I am hesitant since the air suspension is in it. We all know how absolute crap the air susp. in Range Rovers are, so can it be replaced with coils like the Range? Should I just get an SE and bag the cash? Thoughts? My point is I don't want to replace air suspension after 100k miles since it will cost about 2300$ I am guessing. I think that is what Range Rover replcement cost was on one shock

Thanks in advance

EAS on the Rangies have always caused off-roaders problems. They work great...but only when they work.

Yeah, people do coil-over conversions all the time. It's pretty routine. Sorry, but I couldn't give you an accurate price estimate...

Does the HSE have airbags all around or just the rear? If it's just the rears like the other DII's then the conversion is very simple. There's a write up in the tech section on it. I would stick with the airbags if you don't plan to do alot of offroading. If you want to add a lift then swap to coils.

The D2 air system is much more reliable than the RR's for lots of reasons, so I wouldn't sweat it. The only problem it has is that it sucks in rain, but they're redesigning the intake to fix it, so you should never see that problem.
