Quick diff question.

I have a line on a set of lightly used 3rd members from a D2 that I'm hoping to pick up for my D1. I know you can put a D1 front diff in a D2 with no problems, I've seen it done, but I want to make sure the D2 rear 3rd member will fit on my D1 and not cause any issues with the inner axels, for some reason I rember the D1 as having floating axels and not the D2.

Also I'm fairly certain the rear is a U-joint flange, but if it's not, can I take the U-joint flange from my D1 and just bolt it up to the D2 diff?

Thanks ahead of time, and please excuse my less than great knowledge of axels.

all 24 spline rover diffs are the same. Only exception would be rotoflex vs. u-joint rear.

Frank's stuff you are buying will work fine on your truck, and yes he has a rear u-joint not a rotoflex so you have nothing to worry about. Trust me, i was laying under his truck last weekend.

Sweet, thanks Don! Now I just need him to get his new axels so he can rip out those diffs and I can get them bolted into my D1. 1 step closer to a finished D1, meens 1 step closer to my RRC race truck idea, and all the new tools needed to make that happen.
