So what do you guys think is the best material for roof rack flooring? Marine board, expanded metal, sheet of aluminum, diamond plate or that RhinoPro flooring as seen on www.4x4ag.com or anything else that you might have? Just curious to know what you guys think since I am about to do my flooring in a couple of weeks? I cant decide on what exaclty I want.

I like solid aluminum and diamond plate both.

Here is a LINK on this forum that might be of interest to ya.

I like the Rhino flooring. Extremely light and extremely tough. I know this was a hot topic in the past, but mine is one of the originals and no warping whatsoever. The new ones I've heard even have some minor "improvements," yet I'm not sure why as mine seems great. I have heard that you may need to do some minor trimming on some as the SD racks are not all built to the same exact dimensions each time (slight difference on some of the pillar spacings).

I went back and looked at Koby's. It looks as though he is "missing" some of the mounting brackets for the edge.

The only thing that I would wonder is about the aluminum or diamond plate getting extremely hot in the summer months and expanding. I dont know if this would matter with it expanding or anything but I am not sure if I want somthing that would get really really hot. Plus you could probably get burnt on it but then again im not sure.

lol . if its going to get that hot then then you might as well start using the floor as a huge frying pan! ..... well i guess if you start to see the paint bubbling and your tires starting to melt then you may want to concider not to touch the roof rack flooring. at that point i think its safe to say it's over! dont you think? ......

I agree with discokid's thoughts on it getting too hot.. not so much with it expanding.. but metal gets hot with the sun directly on it.. try putting you hand on the hood after its been in the sun all day long.. wouldn't that almost be like a giant frying pan if it was diamond plating?

I have the RhinoFlooring. I love it! No warpage worth speaking of, works great, looks great, AND in that heat you guys speak of it shades the truck interior and keeps it a little cooler. The folks at 4x4ag take good care of you too!!

I have the Rhinopro as well, no problems. That being said, I can see this flooring warping in SoCo or Texas. If you live in a cooler state you should have no problems though...
It has worked great for me, strong enough to camp on, light enough that it doesn't change the center of mass. Mostly though, I was worried about sound and rattling with a metal flooring, especially if carrying cargo (jerrycans for instance, or skis) up there.
