my radar has saved my ass on several occasions, it might just be where i live but about every cop just rides around with there radar on and it picks them up early enough for me to slow down, and it only take getting you out of one ticket to pay for itself

I guess the cops there haven't figured out that driving around all day with your radar on makes you have kids with tails.
I *would* use my detector in an area like that... but in DC traffic and pretty much ANY part of northern VA it's really not worth it. Too much traffic.

I've had good results with a Rocky Mountain Radar detector/scrambler -- no tickets in 3 years. They'll even refund your ticket cost if you get one.
