Radiator fail

For the cooling sky one I have I had to put spacers under it to get it to fit and a couple other minor mods. The pegs still have plenty of grab, though. For a $200 Chinese radiator I kind of expected some of that. It keeps it right at 180 most of the time, occasionally getting in the mid 180s. As long as it doesn’t start leaking I will be overall happy. However, a $1000 plus radiator should fit better than OEM.

so digging through the internet looking for radiator dimensions I think alisport mixed up a vm range rover and disco cut list

requested a refund almost 2 weeks ago, no movement. About to turn this problem over to amex

Damn, and my $160 Chinese Alli knock off wasn't that out of spec. mounting pegs were flipped and the oil feeder pipes were the wrong size. fixed that with AN fittings.

I recall they seemed to be puzzled by the nada matching dimensions which struck me as odd for someone in that business . I sent them a pic of my old one for a manual transmission and only had to grind a tab off the frame for it to fit

I don't think I'd consider that going in without a hitch

UPS picked it up a couple days ago, waiting for a refund or radiator. Slightly convenient as the lt230 in that truck needs a rebuild so got something to do while I wait.

I have a newly acquired '98 50th anniversary edition LSE (170K miles) with a bad engine that overheated on a trip at the end of July so its back in the shop and I've found a 4.6L from a P38 GEMS but need the radiator and Allisport has been backordered since August so called Ron DAvis in Phoenix and they quoted $1347 but only with trans cooler lines. Do they not know that it requires two sets for the auto transmission? Just received updated email from them: with fittings for both factory lines, its $1,776! but suspect like Allisport that their dimensions are off.

Ughh…I have one of those. Time to find a good radiator shop to refurb my old original ones. .Including myself, I know of 3 who have them, mine being the only one not yet failed.
You need to find out from the show car muscle car crowd in your new area who fixes them. I know the skill set is almost extinct. But someone is out there that can re core an old radiator.

has your radiator guy done enough that I can call and say I want a disco radiator with oil and trans cooler without giving any dimensions?
I have a local builder that does my aluminum ones from scratch. She made a few for me including the one in Annabelle. They are not perfect but thats with anything custom made. I think the one in Snowwhite is some generic aluminum one but it works great. For the race truck i am going to have one made. I want it without coolers since i am going to run externals for the transmission and oil. The truth is the factory one is great once it rotted and cleaned out. You cant beat a copper brass for durability. but for cooling and weight i think aluminum beats the oem. I have collected a pile of oem ones at the shop over the last couple years. Hard for me to part with them for some reason. Hard for me to part with anything Land Rover.

Exactly my “problem” as well.
