D1 Radiator replacements - How to fill the oil and tranny fluid?
Do you do it after you connect the lower hose? Or just add more fluid to the regular fill points after its in, or ?????

If that wasn't clear....washed my hands to get all the oil off the keyboard.
OK, the tranny lines and oil cooler lines run to the radiator. How to re-fill the radiator to get it all back to normal levels? (Water is the easy one!!).

Thanks
Ed

Hell, I'm still trying to figure out how you got the bottom radiator hose on. Good luck Ed. If you need anything beat with a hammer, I'm up in North Hollywood. I'm doing the rear window fix. Got the bugger out, now have to go get a magnifing glass. Ain't old age grand!

Ahh. I have a 2" body lift. I can reach through the panel above the frame, and basically hold my bumper and benchpress the hose off. Then in reverse, I pre-press the hose and let it spring back on. The whole radiator process on a rover is a Piece of cake!! It took me longer to wash my hands and post up here, have a couple of smokes waiting for an answer than to do the whole job.

Fun, fun, no overheating all the way to Big Bear (+7000ft from here) and the trail and back. I did however break off the motor mounts I put on the same time as the radiator. The torque snapped em off.

Alright, now that your question's been answered I don't feel like I'm interrupting..

oil and tranny fluid?!!? Do these go into the radiator to be cooled also?

Incredible.

Could the fact that my transmission fluid has become noticeably burnt-smelling in the last two months have anything to do with a bad 'its own cooler in front of the radiator?'

No, on a disco 1, the tranny fluid goes into the radiator cooler first, then on to the cooler in front of the radiator. On a disco 2, there is only 1 cooler in front of the radiator.
