This is the 2nd time this has happened. First time it fixed itself somehow.

Anyway I got in the truck and turn it on, don't hear the radio so I try to turn it up and the screen doesn't show anything. I hit a button and it just starts beeping everytime the security light blinks on the radio. After about ten to 15 minutes of beeping it stops. I hit another button and it started again.

Doesn't ask for the CODE or anything just beeps with no way of shutting it off.

Any ideas?

I'm going to disconnect the battery and see if that works.

98 Discovery btw.

one of mine did this. It acted like it got the wrong code punched in. I'd unplug for an hour or so and it never cleared. I finally got frustrated and left it unplugged for a few days then tried again and it acted normal and asked for the code.

Yeah it's odd.

I disconnected the battery and now the radio does nothing at all. It still has lights coming around the tape deck area when the headlights are on but that is about it. I also realized my cigarette lighter stopped working. Maybe it's just a fuse. I'll check that in the morning.

Mine did this when I hooked up a broken cd changer to see if it worked. It continued to beep after I unplugged the changer - stopped on its own as I was starting to disconnect the battery. Radio didn't work for the rest of the day - worked fine the next day and since.

So, could be a problem with the CD changer.

The cigarette lighter & radio fuses checked out ok.

I'll try messing with the cd player to see if that helps at all.

Well I fixed it. I pulled out the actual radio to check the wiring and something must have been lodged against something because I tested to see if it worked while it was out of the dash and it worked.

Also my seats wouldn't work while it was broken but now everything works.

Well still having this problem. Have not had much time to look into it so I have just been driving without a radio.

Anyway I do not have power at the fuses for the radio or cigar lighter. If I take out the fuse and use a jumper wire I can make the radio, seats and cigar work like nothing is wrong. I am going to pull the fuse block out tomorrow and check to make sure everything is plugged in tight because it did start working on it's own the other day for about 5 minutes. First time in a month!

Besides that any other ideas?
