I have a stock head unit, the moment I turn it on - the cruise control cuts off, meaning, if it was engaged it stops workimg, and I cant engage the cruise until i power down the head unit. Ideas? I am at a total loss... Disco II

And you need to stay quiet unless have anything substantial to contribute. Gosh, some people just have too much time on their hands to share the "pearls of their wisdom". Or, are you doing this while on Other People's Money paycheck? Even then, stay quiet.

Wait...WHO the fuck are you? 98 posts and you think you can prance around here with a rod sticking out your ass?

Only a select few can do that.
I dont think you've earned that right.

no. I'm financially secure. Dont be so jealous. Dont worry about who pays me or what I earn, grasshopper. I have time to read your posts and laugh out loud. So blow me. Now with that said:

There are no fuses, wires, relays or otherwise shared between the cruise control, its solenoids and your audio system. My Audi's CANBus is sensitive to noise and does gremlin shit sometimes too.

Likely you have a short in your stereo. Try another head unit, or place another dummy load on the stereo circuit and tell us what happens. If it proves fine, as I suspect it may, Inspect the wiring between the steering mounted audio and cruise controls.

Let me stop you while youre ahead..sell your rover, youre more a Prius kinda guy...on with the show, go away noob

I assume your truck has ICE could there be something screwy with the cruise control switches and the ICE on the clock-spring? With the cruise off does the steering wheel controls for the radio work? Does it blow any fuses or just shut off?

Thank you both Dannyballs and Cozy41. Initially, I was told to get a new switch, as mine just stopped working (my trusted indy tech guy swapped mine with another to find out that mine was not working). It kinda buffled me as there seemed nothing in the switch that could go wrong, but maybe I was wrong. Anyway, got a new switch, put it in, it blew the fuse. Ran out of 10A fuses and put in a 15. On my tests again, it did not blow the 15A fuse, but the Cruise did not come back either. Went back to the tech guy, who test drove and confirmed the switch as working, he even took me with him to show me that it worked. (the difference there was that he switched the radio and AC completely off, whereas I did not). So, long story short, on a long recent trip I was playing with the cruise when I "discovered" that when the radio is on, the switch makes no effect on Cruise Control, but it works as it should when the radio is off. In either scenario it lights up and all, does not blow the 15A fuse... How do i look for a short in the rotary coupler?

This guy came to this site to get help with a situation he knew nothing about, and you crucify him. Please DWeb get rid of these entitled douche bags!! :applause:
