Ok, so I tried the splicing business into my LR headunit to do the switch for IPOD (courtesy of RR.net) with nothing to show except for chopped wiring and a receipt for the purchase of a new aftermarket head unit. I tried the business with the OEM-2 adaptor to for the ground issue with no resolution. Still hisses and 1000s of wires making it nearly impossible to push the hu in. I have Friday off and plan on rewiring the whole truck to run like a conventional stereo set-up. Should this kill the hiss and buzz? I do however have the coolest noise that occurs when I shut any door. Like a computerized sound effect. Reminds me of Star Trek!!
I've studied all of the posts concerning wiring and the buzz. half for the ground loop isolator and half for re-wiring. Any thoughts? It's on a 97 disco. The new hu is a Pioneer deh-4800mp with the ipod adaptor. I have the basslink in the back. I 'm threatening to change the speakers out as well for Infinitys.

I just took mine to a local shop (Car Toys) and had them put those things in there. The only thing I didn't do was put in another Amp for the subwoofer. They think that at least one of them was blown so I'm not losing too much without it. I got the guys to put in all new wires along with the HU and the iPod adapter. It's the best $$$ I've spent considering all of the posts that I've read about how difficult this could be DIY if you don't have all the correct parts.
