Range Rover won't move

Just purchased an 89 Classic. Only dealt with Disco 2s before this one. The engine starts just fine. I can shift through the gears but the truck won't move when its in any of the drive positions or reverse. I can put the truck in neutral though and push it.

Has anyone had this problem before? I haven't had a chance to dig into the transmission or t-case yet and wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations.

did this happen after you got it to your house or was it always this way?

as easy as SCRover`s answer sounds, it could be exactly that. 89 was the first year though for the B-W transfer box so it could also be something worse.

I checked the t-case last night. It was in high. I wish it would have been that simple. Any other thoughts on this one? The truck makes a great noise when I shift into reverse or drive and then back into park.

maybe the diff?

my diff let go in the back and i could not move eitheir? Could also be your torque converter. Does your drive shaft rotate in drive?
