OK so I've been working all weekend replacing a shitload of drivetrain parts, now I'm replacing the Rotoflex that is swiss cheese.

The bushing that is in the trailing end of the driveshaft is shot and I have the new one ready to go in...

How The F*ck Do You Get That Bushing Out?!?!?! :banghead:

Nothing in the RAVE and I don't want to end such a great weekend of wrenching with a failure.

Please if you know someone that's done this call them and ask. This is killin me!

Ya you might find a good used rear Ujoint shaft, pinion flange, and spacer from a Range rover (short wheel base)for about what the new rotoflex kit cost. If you have a lift it will last longer to. look on Ebay

Just make a puller out of your land rover hub nut socket with a long grade 8 bolt that has had the threads cut farther down and some washers. Put the socket over the stub. Screw the bolt thru the socket and into the end of the stub with a nut and some washers on it. Tighten the nut and the stub will pull out. Hold the head of the bolt with a wrench so it will not turn. It woked for me. Get a hub nut socket if you dont have one. You will have to do this if the seal should need replaceing anyway.

I ended up using a dremel tool with the bit that looks like this. I was able cut a channel all the way down the side of the bushing.

Once the cut was all the way through the wall of the bushing from top to bottom I used a meaty scew driver and a hammer to drive down between the drive shaft and the bushing, bending the bushing it just enough to loosen it up and pulled it out.

Keep in mind there is a shoulder at the bottom of the bushing so only cut down the bushing stopping at the shoulder, other wise you will think you are cuttting forever as the driveshaft metal is much harder.
