front or rear DII's are really not hard to replace a hald shaft at all compared to most trucks. They are just tougher then the funny book simple D1's and defenders.

Over time the job has gotten blown outa perspective in the rover community IMHO.

thanx for all the input. Looks like arb , and in a few months Ill spring for the axles , just to be safe . I wheel in pretty remote areas , and my mechanical abilities this early in the "game" are a bit novice.

I may have miss spoken, but isn't the truck the same from the output of the transfer case to the axle as a RRC, DI or Defender? I'm not sure what the difference is if you have center diff lock engaged.

You can't leave the half shaft out since it holds the hub together.
