I need to replace the rear pinion seal on an 01 P38. Do a search and the only listings I find are an assembly including the yoke the driveshaft bolts to. WTF. Does the seal cut a grove on the yoke rendering it useless? Couldn't one not press the seal in all the way so it rode on a fresh spot on the yoke?

I have no idea if they offer these for a pinion yoke, but for harmonic balancers you can buy a repair sleeve to slide onto the snout to cover up any groove created by the oil seal. Same circumstances, just different parts. One would have to know the OD of the pinion yoke and see if a repair sleeve with that for an ID existed.

Good point on the sleeve. The truck has a little over 100K on it and the front is not leaking. I'm thinking if its a wear situation on the yoke they should both be leaking. I'm going to replace the seal first and see if that cures the leak.
