Does the rear axles need to be removed to change the rear brake rotors on a D1, '97 to be exact? From the Haynes and Rave it looks like it does:( . :banghead:

Don't worry it takes about 1 minute to remove a rear axle in a D1 if you have air tools. Not much longer with hand tools.

+1 on no hassle

The worst part is catching all the 90w that spills out. Drain the diff first and leave it open througout the repair, and fill it up as the last step.

Probably needs it anyway.

I don't see anything in the RAVE manual regarding removing the axle. Hubs, yes, but axle, no. Did you mean hubs? Looks pretty straight forward.

You have to remove the axle shafts to remove the hub. You don't have to remove the entire axle assembly.

Soaker, good point never thought about the fluid, I am up for a change soon anyway. Thanks and I do have air tools.
