I have a 99 Disco II and the other day I put down my passanger side rear seat, now the seat won't go back to the original position b/c the seat belt is hugging the seat so tight. I tried pulling the seat belt up with my hand and the seat belt seems to be locked and won't release to give slack so the seat can stand upright. Its the middle seat belt that seems to be in a locked position and not letting the seat release to the upright position. The belt is lock as if I had to quickly hit the brakes.

Thanks for you advice in advance

Mine does this too.

Take off the back of the seat (the trim thing on the back) and unbolt the ratchet assembly and hold it at the same angle as it would be if it was in the seat when upright and pull out the belt. Be sure to get plenty of slack and bolt it back in.It does this because the slot the belt comes out of is broken and lets the button on the belt pass through. When the seat goes down, it has more slack and it is pulled in. Then, with all the tension, it won't come back out.

I have the same problem, but when i unbolted the the belt housing, where it rolls up, i gave it some roll, then tried to pull it and it still wouldn't come out. What the heck, why wont it unlock? is there a release?

It acts like a pendulem. The angle has to be right and it will release.
