Rear Step Strut

Has anyone found another source for the rear step strut on a D1? I don't want to spend the $100+ they want for a rebuilt kit, just want a new strut and they should be alot cheaper than that.

I guess I could take it off and just look, but was hoping someone else has already done this.

I will be posting the whole unit from my 99 Disco II on Ebay in a few days it is in great shape. If you would be interested it would save me a few steps in selling it.

Call your dealer and ask how much, then make sure before you hangup ask for the part number or even the manufacturer if it ain't LR itself. Anyhow, my other suggestion it to take it apart and see if it has the manufacturer on it. I wonder if those home security door struts would work. Or just google it once you have the manufacturers name
