Ok so, my 1998 has 4 bulbs.
from top to bottom:
Brake/driving (red)
Turn (orange)
Reverse (obviously white)
Aaaand a 4th one that is off and I have no clue what it does.
Both bulbs are good.
Any hints????

Rear fogs? Second button down from the top on the left side of the steering wheel. Only illuminates when headlights are on.

Front fogs is under the clock, next to the cruise control; above the center console.

To note they only work on low beams without mods.

They seem to work like a charm!!! The button does not lit though, but there is juice on the bulb socket. Tested a bulb and BANG!!!! Let there be light.

My LSE had factory fog lights in the front but they went away when I installed the HD bumper. I hadn’t thought about them since. However, I just checked and the circuit still works. I now know what my next simple project will be. I have had some lights stored away for quite some time waiting to go on the bumper but I was procrastinating about setting up the wiring and switch. I didn’t think about the old fog lights until this post. (Duh on me…)

I just finished up a more challenging and annoying project (p-gasket and turbo manifold replacement on the 300tdi) and am ready for an easy project before I dive into another more challenging project.

Also, I checked the rear, which I have never used, and they work. The switches still light up as well.

As a side note, if you have exhaust escaping above the turbo it affects the turbo. It wasn’t much but correcting that really has made it a good bit more peppy. I was really surprised at the difference.

Back to fog lights, anyone have advice on aiming them properly?

I have 2x 100watt hella Fog light bulbs on my factory wires and fuses BTW. As I understand, they ran 3x 100 watt bulbs on the Trophy's, maybe wires can handle 300 watts idk, but 200 watts is no problem!

As for aiming them; I like to drive around with them ON most of the time! #1 ppl avoid me more, #2 ppl in front of me think I am a cop! So I aim them at or slightly below the line of headlights to not blind people.

OP, as for your switch not lighting up, there are 2 bulbs Inside the switch.. Another post has some LED replacements we can use in these. I don't remember bulb size off the top of my head, but they're oddball for sure!

T3 Neo Wedge lamp --- is the bulbs inside the switches BTW

To note on these fog lights, I've burned through 5 different bulbs even LED ones. I put these 100w Hella bulbs in and they're still going strong! Something about ALL the bouncing and beating on the bumpers is HARD on bulbs. Hella FTW!

Not a fan boy, just a fellow bulb abuser..

Slightly off topic but I use Cyclops LED bulbs. After 7yrs one finally quit working over the weekend. The cooling fan still comes on but not the leds. Ordering another set today.
