Rear windows stopped working

'96 D1 rear windows stopped working. At first they worked sometimes now not at all. They either both work or both don't work. Front windows are fine. Any ideas?

There is a thread on here about fixing the window lift ECU. I did it, it worked. Search rear windows, you'll come across it.

OK, I did the rear window repair and it worked with out me having to beat anything with a hammer. Unfortunately, since I had such a hard time getting it out and I'm not that experianced at soldering, I decided to test it before I reinstalled it. I did you know that the tab that sticks up from the bottom of the access area is metal and will short things if it touched the back of the ECU? Well it does.

Something went fzpst in the center console area (I think). Now the rear windows work great but the front windows don't work. Any ideas what I fried? Or how to fix it.

Ouch, big bummer there. I wish I could help but am still a Rover Noobie. I do thank you for posting the problem though as I was going to do the same repair myself next week and it may help prevent me from amking a similar mistake.

I tried to do this repair today but could not get the wiring harness disconnected. Any suggestions from someone that has done this?
