Just go to www.atlanticbritish.com, www.roverconnection.com, or similar and get the full tune up kit. You'll need plugs, wires, air filter, oil filter. Use diesel rated 15w-40 oil that is API SL for gas engines. Has additives good for cam.

Change the PCV breather filter.

The transmission filter does not need to be changed (assuming it was done at the 30K service). Just drain and refill.

Axle and transfer case oil is synthetic 75w-90.

i think 120k is the biggest scheduled maintenance, i just got done doing mine (but i did it at 117k). i did new heads and full exhaust (not required) replaced ALL fluids and ALL filters, new plugs/wires and new o2 sensors. gained around 10 hp and a few MPGs

How much did new heads costs? Yikes!

Headman Headers, made for the Range Rover, but with a little extra work they will fit a D1. surprisingly, they were only $140, i re-coated them to be sure they will last. overall, im extremely pleased with the outcome. sounds like a new engine!

Geez, sounds good.

what wires do you guys recommend???

get bosch premium +4 plugs and get the magnacore 8mm wires. many people say running these plugs screw up the engine. getting the magnacore wires prevents this. many folks beef up plugs and not wires. problem is, stock wires run around 22k volts, new plugs require around 80k. get new wires and you have yourself a fiesty new ignition system, maybe a horse or 2, and better fuel economy. trust me, I did it, and love it!

How difficult would it be to change the transmission filter? I'm doing some similar maintence and bought the trans filter kit, but the Haynes manual said it should only be done by a dealer. It's a filter, how hard could it be? Dealership changed it about 40k ago.

OK OK.

And why not???

Because they work like shit! Do a search on Bosch on here.

If they worked so well, Rover would have put them in at the factory. :)

What trouble codes did you get?

Had them, hated them. Even with mag 8mm. Autolite 65 or champion is my recommendation.
