I have been having issues passing smog due to a O2 sensor issue, or so I thought. A OBDII scanner shows Bank 1 O2 sensors 1 & 2 = no data. I have had a check engine light on and have tried 2 different O2 sensors and then I ran acrross this:
I popped open my fuse box under hood and found that my R8 relay was missing and that my R6 relay slot had a relay in it. I have read that the R6 is for glow plugs on a Diesel, then why would my V8 have it in place? I was unsure whether or not to pull it and place it in the R8 spot. So I pulled the R7 relay (AUX) and placed it in the R8 spot, presto. my check engine light is OFF....I switch it back and it will immediately turn the check engine light back on. So now my questions are:
1) What does the R8 relay do?
and
2) Why does my V8 have a relay in the R6 slot? Can I just pull this relay off and put it in place of the R8 relay that's causing my check engine light?
