What's the build quality like? I'm look for a well made 1911, but one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

They seem to be okay. What do you want it for? Just to have a 1911 or for serious use?

I'm not going to be competing with it... it's the gun I'll take out for casual target shooting.

I've looked at a couple though I've never shot one. They seem well put together. Haven't really heard anything bad about them.

A friend of mine is picking up the Ruger 1911 next week, Ill let you know what I think... As for Remington I'm sure their gun is fine, I just haven't cared for or had much luck with their newer stuff.

Great gun,great price.It's a 1911 so as long as the base is good you can build it up until your heart is content.

You can pick a slightly used Kimber for that price
