Remote Solenoid Wiring

Is this required in order to mount the solenoid box in the engine compartment?

It looks like a really expensive pack of wires...

What has to be done in order to remount the solenoid?

No.

I have my X9 selnoids moved right behind the battery and the controller inside the cab. All you need are longer wires, use arc welding cable I got drawn into the marine cable crap and it is the same thing only 10x as much. And the same for the controller longer wires and mount it were you want

My selnoids are still on the same mount as when they were on the winch just redrilled the mounting holes and had to move the fuse box which needed a longer cable to the battery. Note mine is a '95 so newer ones will probably be a little different but there is lots of room on the pass side engine compartment to choose a spot

I mounted my Solenoid infront of the airbox and used longer heavy guage cables to re-wire it...

Just be sure to size the cables from the solenoids to winch motor properly. Most winches I see already come with too small a guage cable.

you can buy the connections and battery cable by the foot from nappa.

I got my 15' of cable at a car stereo place and they hooked it up with free ring terminals and sleeves.
