Removing ACE System

After having the parts on the shelf for 3 years, and having got our son's D2 so fitted, I made a start this afternoon to taking it all off the car.

The first job was to get the new belt sorted out ready for going on, and I lose two idlers as well, so the belt is quite short (no aircon, no ACE)

Pump came off OK, drained the fluid out of the reservoir then took the pump right off. The single chamber reservoir actually holds 1 litre of fluid, it isn't just half the container, it uses ALL of the container now that ACE is no longer there.

So new fluid in, run engine for a few minutes to get the new PS fluid circulating, and the first thing you notice is how much quieter the engine is now that the ACE pump and 2 idlers have gone.

I'll be carrying on tomorrow, front off first and the new ARB and links on, then I'll get the piping stripped out down the driver's side (passenger side on NAS vehicles)

Pump and valve block will probably go on ebay, but they aren't fetching much now, too many are on the market as more and more D2 get broken for spares.

I'll try and remember the camera tomorrow.
