Sorry for the newbie question, but I'm out to replace this rear view mirror as it has the common issue. Is there some sort of retaining clip I need to get to so I can pull this off? I also read that a D2 mirror will also work. Anybody that can validate that?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, the D2 mirror works. I can't recall how I removed the old mirror; maybe someone else can chime in. I don't want to steer your wrong as it's been a few years.

Remove the plastic bits around the top. Then LIGHTLY tap downward on the mirror. It should slide down with a little effort. Yes, a D2 mirror will work. I have a good D2 mirror w/o compass or homelink. $20 shipped. Also have a good D1 mirror for $25 shipped.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay. I assume both of them are in good shape, right? Auto dimming functioning? The D1 mirror has the map lights, right?

Thanks!
