Removing dents

I got a pretty good crunch Saturday at UNF. Just behind the fuel door I caved it in about 2" deep and a 1.5' radius. What's the best way to "roll" these dents out? I was thinking bottle jack, a towel, and a cut 2x4. Or beat it out depending on the access. The mud caked in the right rear is 3" thick :D

I know WURTH have a gadget that is a bit like a suctionclamp that massages out dents.
You would have to get in touch with a garage that gets their tools from there, as it is
probably expensive to buy out right.

Funny you mention the roll of paper towel thing- my stepbrother was a body guy at a Porsche dealer and that's what he used on the backside of dents to push them out by hand.
There's an art to doing it properly and it's often worth having a pro do it for cash on the side.

Uwarrie + mud = GO ON A DIFFERENT DAY
(ask me how I know) :D

That's the best time to go :p When it's dry my Jeep would walk the whole thing. Wet, it's a different story

if you can gain access to the rear of the dent you could try a deflated ball, place up in the well area behind the dent and inflate slowly and it should pop back out..... try a basketball or volleyball -Andy

I haven't had a chance to really take it apart to see how much clearance I have. Not sure if I need to go throught the inner fender well or remove the right rear jumpseat. I'll disassemble later this evening.

Still haven't gotten a chance to take a look at it but does anyone know which way I can gain access to the right rear corner panel? Through the wheel well or am I gonna have to remove the right rear jump seat?

I've got the same issue, but mine happened in a not-so-glorious kind of way. Damn those side view mirrors on a Volvo. Any advice would appreciate.

if you just want it to look a little better go for it. if you want it fixed the right way i'd find a body tech to do it as side work. aluinum is a pain in the ass to fix,it stretches a lot more than average sheet metal.if it's dented on the corner panel behind the quarter it can be replaced easily,it just bolts on and sealed with seam sealer...

It's the area right behind the gas door. No biggie. Once I get my bumpers built the corner protection will cover most of it up. I'd still like to have a decent looking vehicle though.
